Spring is here and with the hot real estate market Montreal is experiencing, we are seeing properties sold within days.<\/p>\n

Since inventory is low, home buyers are in a time where they need to move fast. Visits have now become group tours within certain visiting hours, along with an open house set for maximum exposure.<\/p>\n

With today\u2019s demands and the ever changing market, you may be winding down to an open house date and you feel as
\nthough you may not be ready. Here is the quintessential top ten checklist to keep your home safe and give it its best
\nshot!<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. All expensive items, personal documents and\/or other valuables: hide or take with you (do not leave these items
    \nhidden an obvious areas such as the home office)<\/li>\n
  2. If the home is empty, ensure the water is on and bathrooms are fully functional in case someone may need to use the
    \nfacility. Don\u2019t forget the toilet paper and hand soap!<\/li>\n
  3. If there is a garage, keep it tidy and de-cluttered. People won\u2019t find value in the garage if they cannot envision how to
    \npark at least one vehicle in the space.<\/li>\n
  4. A good thorough clean sweep; paying special attention to bathrooms and animal hair.<\/li>\n
  5. Make the beds and tidy all closets so that nothing falls when opening closet doors.<\/li>\n
  6. Turn on all lights and open all window coverings to maximize natural light.<\/li>\n
  7. Eliminate offensive odours; empty out any garbages as well.<\/li>\n
  8. Keep kitchen and bathroom counters free of clutter; showcase the counter space.<\/li>\n
  9. Keep any pet(s) away from the home.<\/li>\n
  10. Since the snow is now melting, make sure nothing is leaking overhead as people walk-in and keep the driveway and
    \nwalkway free of any clutter (ex: bins, branches, cracked pieces of cement, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Bonus Tip<\/strong>: We tend to forget about the aftermath of an open house, so to stay clear from any viruses and germs this season, make sure to clean all touchable surface areas such as cabinetry handles, door knobs and light switches.
